Our history.
Mountain Valley Insurance was established on August 1, 1976, with its first office in Barbourville, Kentucky. Over the decades, we’ve expanded our presence to include offices in Lexington, London, and Manchester, becoming a respected and reliable name in regional insurance services.
In 2008, First State Bank in Middlesboro, KY, acquired all Mountain Valley locations, enhancing our ability to provide both financial services and comprehensive insurance solutions throughout the region.
A new chapter: 7 Insurance acquires Mountain Valley Insurance.
We’re excited to announce that, effective July 1, 2025, Mountain Valley Insurance will officially merge with 7 Insurance. This partnership marks a significant milestone as we bring together two well-established agencies that share a deep commitment to service, integrity, and community.
Through this merger, we will expand our operations across Kentucky, double the size of our team, and broaden our network of insurance carriers—allowing us to offer even more choices and expertise to our clients.
Our unified agency will continue under the name Mountain Valley Insurance, featuring refreshed branding and a new website to reflect this exciting evolution.
Although our appearance is changing, our core values remain unchanged. You can continue to count on us for the same dependable service, trusted advice, and customized insurance solutions you’ve always known.
